ECVC, through a contract with Pitt County, operates the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 901 Staton Road. Household recyclables are brought into the facility from 11 surrounding counties. Large quantities of cardboard and, occasionally other items, come in from commercial establishments. The material is hand sorted, baled and then sold to companies all over the world.

Items that the facility processes are all kinds of paper, newspaper, card board, junk mail, paper board, glass bottles, aluminum cans, steel cans, and #1 and #2 plastics (bottles with necks).

The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8AM until 4:30PM. For business information concerning buying or selling recyclable materials, contact Faye Coward at 830-0797 or Alvin Davis at adavis@ecvcinc.com.
